Texas is one of the original "wee wee" girls.
When India wants attention she makes a "wee wee" sound, as does her
sire "Disney", so when we had three puppy girls all at the same time
we dubbed them India's Wee Wee Girls...India had many adventures
with her girls including weekly mud spa visits!
Texas comes to us from an amazing friend and
mentor Ellen McKenna of MA, Ellen has been in goldens for many years
and has a small and select breeding program. I got to know Ellen as
she owns
Webster's littermate "Emma" and we would email back and forth on
occasions charting their conformation progress and discussing pedigrees etc. Emma
was very successful early on in the puppy classes of the
conformation ring when Webster was nothing more than an ugly little
spider monkey :) . Ellen and I kept in touch throughout Webster's
campaign to his championship and we developed a long distance
friendship.
Emma decided after her successful puppy career
that she really didn't like the show ring and therefore Ellen
made the choice to retire her to the whelping box. When Ellen told
me she had bred Emma and she was having just one solo puppy we got
to thinking that it might be fun to co-own the puppy together and
see what happened with her. Texas was a singleton however at a few
days old Ellen put her with another friends litter to grow up with
until she was 8 weeks old the litter were just 2 days
older than she was, boy was that a
great success and when Texas was 8 weeks old I flew up to MA to pick
her up and bring her back to FL.
Texas has an old pedigree and goes back to many
of our breed greats, she has been much slower to mature than most of
today's goldens but I think she will be worth the wait! During her
growing up phase we have worked her in obedience and rally and she
has her CGC as well as two legs towards her Rally novice title, we
plan to finish her rally title soon. Texas is scheduled to go to a
pro-field trainer and handler in the Spring to chase birds and
pursue her Junior Hunting title to begin with...who knows what this
active little girl could do. I predict she will be the first
"Circus" girl to hold a Versatility Certificate from the GRCA!!
Texas has a sweet expression and a strong
headpiece with correct ear placement, she is a somewhat longer bodied bitch
with a tail straight off her back. Her movement is smooth and
balanced and she has an elegant outline. Her coat is thick and plush
and very water repellent as is correct for the breed standard.
Texas has her heart and eyes cleared she got an
OFA good on hips and elbows are normal.
Texas was bred and is co-owned by
